FAQs
What should I pack?
While the dress code for the wedding is formal, the rest of the weekend will be casual. Don’t forget to pack your beachwear if you want to take advantage of the water activities Stout’s offers.
The dining room dress code for breakfast and lunch is “island casual” (jeans, t-shirts, sandals, etc.). In the evenings the standard is business casual (button-downs, polo shirts, slacks, blouses, skirts, etc.). Dress jeans and dress shorts that are not worn, torn, or distressed in any way may be worn during dinner as well. Caps and hats are not allowed at any time.
There will be beach towels provided in each room, so don’t worry about fitting that into your suitcase! Stout’s also offers bug spray for you to use near the office.
The walking trails around the island are not paved, and after rain, they can become muddy. Additionally, a lot of the wedding events will take place on grass, so make sure you pack proper shoes accordingly.
The rooms also provide travel-sized shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
In our experience of staying on the island, food & drinks/coolers are not a concern for staff in terms of taking it on the island, so there’s no need to hide it in your suitcase. Feel free to bring as many refreshments as you please. Otherwise, the office has a small selection of snacks & beverages available for purchase.
Can I bring a plus 1?
Due to the venue’s guest restrictions and in an effort to keep our wedding as intimate as possible, we do not have the capacity to allow you to bring a plus 1. Your invitation will address you and your party if invited. If you have specific questions about your situation, please reach out to us!
Will there be vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free food options?
Yes. If you have dietary restrictions, please indicate this in your RSVP.
What time should I arrive?
If you are staying on the island, you can arrive at any time that works best for you on Friday—check-in is at 4 p.m. Please see the home page for details about our welcome bonfire if you wish to attend.
For the day of the wedding, if you stay on the island, your cabin will be within walking distance of the ceremony. Stout’s Island can provide a golf cart ride should you need assistance, but please indicate this in your RSVP.
If you are not staying on the island, please check the ferry schedule. The ceremony will start promptly at 4:30, so please ensure you are seated by this time.
Will there be an open bar?
During the cocktail hour and reception, we will host beer, seltzers, and wine. Cocktails are available for purchase.
